Frostbreeze padded silently into the training hollow, sat down, and curled her tail around her paws. She glanced around, and, seeing no one, gave an excited wiggle. This was her first time having an apprentice, and she was very excited. Frostbreze shuffled her paws on the ground and sighed. Suddenly, she was worried. What if Duskpaw doesn't like me? she worried. Snap out of it. You'll be fine, Frostbreeze scolded herself mentally.

Duskpaw sighed to herself as she made her way to the training hollow, she was scared that she would not make a good apprentice. she was a very nervous cat, shy and tentative carefull about everything she did. she was not strong and doubted herself alot, unlike alot of apprentices she was not thingyy or confident but the total opposite.
She entered the traingin hollow and bowed her head in respect to frostbreeze as she got closer and sat down, her fluffy tail down she looked a little dejected.
"Hello Frostbreeze"
she said to her mentor quietly.

Frostbreeze smiled gently at Duskpaw. "Hello, Duskpaw," she said, trying to hide her nervousness. Frostbreeze noticed that Duskpaw's tail was down and she looked a little sad. "Is anything wrong?" she asked, concerned. Realizing that Duskpaw may not want to talk about it, Frostbreeze continued, "Well, I think we should do a little battle training, a little hunting, and then we can tour the forest. How does that sound?" she asked her apprentice.

"nothing is wrong, just..i dont know. That sounds good"
Duskpaw didn't want to disapoint her mentor, she wanted ot be a good apprentice and was determined to show some more enthusiasm, she sat up straight and perked her ears up forcing herself to feel more excited.
Duskpaw was looking forward to doing more hunting trainging she tended to hesitate too long and loose the moment when stalking her prey and she wanted to improove.

"Let's start with hunting, then," Frostbreeze said. She got to her paws and said, "In WindClan, there are mostly rabbits for prey. To catch a rabbit, you run as fast as you can, and then leap, trying to land squarely on top. There really isn't much of a way to practise that, other than actually hunting rabbits," Frostbreeze explained. She wondered whether she should say anything about the hunting crouch, even though it was mostly used in ThunderClan. It can't hurt, she decided. I'll just wait until Duskpaw has a chance to let my first 'speech' sink in, Frostbreeze thought.

Duskpaw listened carefully thinking about it and nodded her heard. she guessed she was right there wasnt much to do in way of practising other than trying it out.
"Ok"
She said quietly thinking about what Frostbreeze had said. she sat still and waited to be told to move or if frostbreeze would speak again.

"Um, I guess I'll just tell you what ThunderClan do, since sometimes we get woodland prey over here," said Frostbreeze. "They crouch down, keep their weight spread out, and stay really quiet. But that's a different matter, and we usually just have rabbits, so do you want to move on to fighting, or do you want to try out the woodland method of hunting?" asked Frostbreeze.

Duskpaw felt a little better as she sensed that frostbreeze was a bit nervous with trainging her. she had expected to be working hard and failing at things. she wondered about fighting and thought she didi want to learn was sort of scared of being hurt.
"I would like to learn how to fight, though i am not very strong"
Duskpaw was faster than she was strong.

"Okay," said Frostbreeze brightly. She was much better at fighting than stalking woodland prey. "How about if we try the leap and hold move? To do that, you jump onto your opponent's back, and then you are in a good position to inflict some real damage, especially since they can't get at you to hurt you when your on their back," Frostbreeze said, recalling all the information she knew about this maneuver. "Oh, and look out for them to try and roll on you when you jump up there," she warned.

"Ok sounds simple enough"
She said wondering if she wanted her to try it on her, she hadnt said to and Duskpaw wasnt brave enough to just leap onto her mentors back and try pin her down. Despite not being very strong duskpaw had quite long sharp claws concealed inside her white front feet.

Frostbreeze crouched down. "Let's give it a try, okay? Just fight me in anyway you can. Claws sheathed," Frostbreeze clarified. She remembered the trick her mentor had always played on her. Pretending to be distracted. Frostbreeze saw a butterfly and pretended to follow it with her eyes.

"Oh ok"
Duskpaw made sure her claws were sheather before she stalked after her mentor trying to make sure she stayed low before trying the move that had been explained before. she jumped up using her back legs to propel herself onto frostbreezes back and pin her to the ground.

Frostbreeze spun around, trying to send Duskpaw flying that way, before she dropped into the roll. The white she-cat made sure to position herself so that she wouldn't crush Duskpaw if she succeeded in getting the apprentice off her back. She's a great fighter! thought Frostbreeze, glad that she had told her apprentice not to use her claws. Frostbreeze was glad to have an apprentice. She had never had one before. Duskpaw's great, she thought.

Duskpaw was caught off gaurd and was caught in the move frostbreeze did, she felt herself connect with the ground but not too roughly and felt a little disapointed.
"I think i need to be a bit more alert"
She hadnt been playing close enough attention to prevent herself being thrown off, she hoped she would improove she didn't want to fail her mentor and be an apprentice forever.

"It's alright, you're doing fine. It's hard to stay on a cat's back when they are jumping and twisting," Frostbreeze said. She sat down and licked one dusty white paw. "When a cat does that, and you feel them starting to drop into a roll, try jumping off at the last second. That way, your enemy is rolling about on the ground and you have time to collect yourself and do a bit of damage before they get up," Frostbreeze said. It was always fun to mess with your enemy's mind before attacking.
