Mud trotted through the thick pine forest, feeling the pine needles under his paws made him feel at home. He soon spotted a frog hopping through the more marshy area, he slowly stalked up behind it and leaped, the impact killed it and he lowered his head and picked up his prey. One of the many things he missed about living in a clan was having someone to share tongues with. He sighed and laid down near the base of a pine tree and started eating on the frog, first pulling off some of the skin then he started eating.

Though Halfpelt was a medicine cat, it was good to get out to hunt for her own freshkill every now and then. She was also coming here to collect some herbs. The smell was the same as it always was, her ears flicked at the sound of prey, she crouched down, stalking it and killing it easily. She smiled, burying it, she felt like she was a warrior. She did miss her past life, but she was a medicine cat now and that was her way of life, she did not regret it in the least.
She stopped, the smell of a tom was in the area. He did not belong to ShadowClan, anymore at least. She recognized the smell easily, it was Mudpelt. A cat she had hardly known when she was a kit and apprentice. She crouched low once more, but this time it wasn't to stalk prey.

Mud just finished off his rabbit when a new scent filled the air, it was definetley a Shadowclan cat but he couldn't tell who it was, he had been away from the clan for to long to tell their scents apart but he definetley recognized the scent. He sat up, wrapped his tail of his paws and started licking his front paw then drew it over his ear, "Come out now, I know your here." he said firmly, he wouldn't attack unless he was attacked but he doubted they would considering only one cat was there.

She muttered as she got up from where she was crouching. If it had to come to battling, she would most likely lose. She was still trained to fight when she was a medicine cat apprentice but not as much as the warrior apprentices. Her legs stiffly walked towards the Tom her green eyes looked slightly worried.
"Fine. I'm out. Happy?" She hissed as she walked into the clearing where Mud was. What in the world was he doing here? Wasn't he banished from ShadowClan? She asked herself. Yes, he had been. She couldn't remember the reason though.

Mud smiled as he easily recognized Halfpaw, he stood up and took a step forward, making him about a fox-length away from her. "Is that you Halfpaw?" he asked looking at her even though she was one of the most recognizeable cats in the clan. She has grown a lot since the last time he saw her. "And yes, Im very happy your out and don't worry I'm not attacking you. I'm just here to make sure Shadowclan knows I still exist and reminf them that they unfairly banned a good, loyal warrior." he said walking back towards the tree and scoring it several times with his long claws.

She sighed, "I am now known as Halfpelt." She replied. She silently watched as he spoke and did what he did. Oh yeah, he did get banned unfairly. I remember that now... She thought to herself. But I forgot what the ban was for. She was pulled out of her thoughts as bird screeched overhead. "The leader that banned you is dead and most cats did agree that you were unfairly banned." She replied. Did starclan know that he was going to get banned? And what good comes out of banning a cat that was telling the truth? She asked herself. She was one of that cats that was most connected to StarClan, yet, she did not know the answer. Maybe I wasn't meant to be a medicine cat. She thought darkly to herself.

Mud turned back around to face Halpelt, he sighed though because that must mean their old medicine cat had passed. "I know I didn't kill the kit, it was that stupid rogue who had been tresspassing and I know some of the cats disagreed with the decision but that makes no difference now." he said as he scored his claws against the trunk of the tree a few more times. What did that matter that some of the cats disagreed, that hadn't spoken up or not that he knew of any way, he had been banned. He wouldn't hurt a fellow clan member unless it was in self defense but he wished he could go back and stop the rogue from killing the kit.

Her ears flipped back at the sound of his claws against the trunk of the tree. For her, it wasn't a pleasant sound and it annoyed her. "It may. It may not." She replied lightly. She didn't know, nor did she care all that much if the tom came back to the clan. It was his choice and only starclan would know what would happen in the future. At least, she hoped they would. She sighed, her front legs sliding forward a bit as she stretched, her eyes lazily watching Mud. "If you want, you may come with me to find herbs."
ooc: Er...medicine cats can get their "warrior" names before their mentor's die. For example, Leafpaw - Leafpool

Mud flicked his tail at Halfpelt's comment, he really didn't understand what she meant by it. He hated thinking about it, it made him upset and hurt, hurt knowing that his clan did that to him. He was glad that she wasn't acting like she defensive anymore and seemed more relax. "I'd enjoy that, thank you." he said dipping his head glad that atleast one cat still treated him normally. He took in a deep breath then breathed out, it felt like all the stress that had been bottled in him had been released. ooc- Lol, I was tired when i typed that  |

"Good." She smiled gently, then her eyes went in front of her, surveying the forest to see what type of herbs she might be able to get here. "We are sure to find cowebs, and maybe some Burdock Root? She paused, "I'm not sure if there are any burdock roots, but we'll soon find out." Her eyes looked curiously towards Mud before she started to walk forward, searching for the herbs.

Mud smiled back then listened, he knew what cobwebs are but Burdock root he had no clue. "Er... How do I find Burdock roots??" he asked curiosly. Flicking his ear embarrassed that he didn't know even though he wasn't a medicine cat he thought he should still know. He started to search around the bottom of trees and by a pile of fallen sticks for cobwebs while he waited for Halfpelt's answer.

She looked towards the tom, he seemed embarrassed, though she saw no reason to be embarrassed. He was no medicine cat and he had been banned from the clan. Why should he care to find herbs? "A tall-stemmed, sharp-smelling thistle with dark leaves." She mewed as she grabbed at a cobweb gently, careful to not break it and to see if there was a spider on it.

He lifted his nose and started searching for the sharp scent, he could grab some cobwebs after he had dug a few roots up. He sotted some of the plants and as he got closer the smell got stronger and he figured this was Burdock, he walked up to the base of the plant and carefully started to dig around the roots. He pulled a few of the plants out and chewed at the base until he could pick up a small pile of roots then carried them back to by the pile of sticks where Halfpelt was looking for cobwebs. "Is this enough?" he asked setting down the roots then he started pulling up at one of the cobwebs that was on a fallen branch beside him.

Her head turned towards the herbs. "For me? Yes." She replied, a small smile on her face. When Mud had been in the clan, he must have a good cat, loyal and friendly. But then, the leader must have had a grudge or something and banned him from the clan. She didn't remember much, she didn't always pay attention. Even to important things. "So......." Her voice drifted off.

Mud nodded and continued searching through the tree limbs for some more cobwebs, he found a large one and checked to make sure there were no spiders before he used his claw to go around the edges being careful not to rip or tear it. He flicked his ear when he heard Halfpelt start to say something. "Is there something you needed Halfpelt?" he asked curiously as he continued to pull off the cobweb.
