Greyfeather stalked what part of the woodlands RiverClan had, she was hoping to find a thrush somewhere. Her ears twitched as she heard a scaffling in the bushes close by, she instantly jumped to her hunting postition. As she padded around the bushes she saw a shrew an crawled closer but then the wind blew an the shrew ran away. Greyfeather cursed under her breath an sat up swiftly grooming a patch of stray fur. She then sniffed the air an smelled another cat close by, "Hello?", she called out.

Snowmask sat the the bushes, watching idly as the she cat hunted her prey. His ears swiveled around at every sound as his icy blue eyes scanned the area. Just starting to zone out in the warm sunlight, Greyfeather's mew interrupted his thoughts. Snowmask glanced up and peered through the bushes, wondering when she had noticed he was there. Feeling the wind tug at his fur, Snowmask realized he was upwind of her and shook his head, silently scolding himself. Standing, he pushed his way out of the bushes, enjoying the feeling as it gently rubbed his back. Stopping in front of her, Snowmask let out a rusty purr. "You should be able to tell who your own Clanmates are, Greyfeather," he teased, flicking his tail, gently, at her nose. [/center]

Greyfeather stared at Snowmask with her silver eyes, "And you should be able to tell when your upwind from something", she teased back at him.

Turning around, he kept his back to her, feeling her eyes on him and scaned the horizon in the direction of the borders as if he was expecting something to pop out from the bushes. Hearing Greyfeather's reply, his large ears flicked back, as if shooing away a bug, to hear it. Snowmask shrugged his white shoulders to hide his embarrassment. "I wasn't hiding from anything," he pointed out, quietly. "Just watching and keeping an eye out." He glanced over at her and felt a shiver run down his spine as she stared at him. Fluffing out his pelt, he shook his head to clear the sudden thoughts of her out. [/sub]

"I can take care of myself thank you", she said annoyed an now glaring at Snowmask. She sat down infront of him an wrapped her long tail around her paws, the sun was making the black splotches on her head an back warm up qiucker than her white fur. A ray of sun caught her eyes an caused them to glow oddly. Greyfeather couldn't help but laugh as Snowmask fluffed out his pelt, she thought he looked funny.

Snowmask licked his fur down with quick laps, ignoring her annoyance. Glancing up at her, he squinted into the sun light but looked away before she caught him staring. Turning to look at the forest and tree tops, Snowmask's mind drifted to his first hunt. He had caught a fish on his first try. Snowmask, then Snowpaw, had been so proud when he felt it's warm body writhering around under his claws. Shaking his head, he forced himself back into the present. "Want a hunting partner?" he meowed, keeping his mew steady though his heart thumped in his chest.

Greyfeather was abit taken aback by Snowmask offer, she had never been ofered a hunting partner before besides her sister. "Um... Sure", Greyfeather couldn't look him in the eye she felt strange around him all of a sudden.

Snowmask felt her eyes on him as his gaze swept the area again. Nodding, he crept forward lightly. His icy blue eyes were locked on a mouse that was sniffing at the grass around it, searching for its own food. Distracted in it's own hunt, it didn't see Snowmask until too late. He pounced on top of it and bite it quickly, his mouth watering slightly. Sitting up, he bounded back over to her and dropped the mouse at her paws. "Why don't we eat before we go?" he suggested, ducking his head. "We need all the energy we can get for the hunt..."

Greyfeather's silver eyes shown with gratitude because her stomach was still growling from not eating anything this at sunrise. "Thank you Snowmask, other cats would probably rather not have even asked me if I wanted to hunt with them or them hunt with me", Greyfeather said qiuetly feeling stranger and stranger around him.

"Why's that?" he asked quietly, stroking his tail down her grey and white fur on her back, waiting for her to start eating. Greyfeather was a nice cat and a great hunter; Snowmask couldn't see why no one wanted to hunt with her. And, he added to himself, they would be able to catch a lot more prey hunting out together. Snowmask's ears flicked forward, hearing her stomach growl. Purring in amusment, he decided to let her keep the mouse for herself. He wasn't that hungry, so he could wait until after they finished hunting.

Greyfeather's fur stood on end as Snowmask stroked his tail down her back, she looked away from him. "Personaly I think its because they think I'm a loon", she whispered, "I've sorta... distanced myself from the other cats except my sister... But she has a mate now so, now she's distanced aswell, then soon I'm sure she'll have kits which will distance us more". Greyfeather looked at him with sad eyes, she wasn't like other cats because she didn't try to, Greyfeather was distanced from her siblings because one was blind and a medicine cat apprentice, the other was power-hungry, and then her one sister had a mate... Greyfeather stood there her mind in a whole other world, and more sadness flooded over her. She looked away from Snowmask agian and crouched down to take a bite from the mouse, realizing again how hungry she was.

"You can always help with her kits," he shrugged, wrapping his tail around himself. "Maybe even mentor one..." After that, Snowmask watched her eat in silence feeling the sun warm his fur. Sniffing the air, he smelled prey everywhere, but he kept still, waiting for her to finish. [/sup]

"I could mentor one of them... But somehow I doubt Nightstar see's me capable of having an apprentice... Then theres Rainingwind's kits and Foxcloud's, Howlingbreath may be more capable or even you or Silverclaw", Greyfeather finished the mouse sitting up an stretching her small slender body. She sniffed the air smelling the woodland prey, she thought catching prey in the forest was more fun then catching fish. "Are you ready?", she asked looking at him again with an odd expression in her eyes.

Snowmask shivered slightly as his eyes locked with hers. Straightening his back, Snowmask shook himself to hide his suprise from her. "Yeah," he meowed, "I'm ready. Where would you like to go first?" Snowmask looked around at the forest. It was too crowded here for him. The trees seemed to be bearing down on him like a heavy blanket. He wanted to get to the river where it was open and the water was cooling.

Greyfeather sighed lightly she would have much rather stayed and hunted in the part of the forest but saw Snowmask wasn't comfortable here, "The river, perhaps?", she mumbled to him trying not to look him in the eyes. She stretched gentley and tried to shake the odd feelings she was having away.
