Silverfoot padded silently through the undergrowth alongside her brother, Hawktail. She glanced up at the sky. It's nearly sun-high. It doesn't feel that late, Silverfoot thought. When she scented vole, she dropped instinctively into the Hunter's crouch. She padded softly forward, and leaped, landing squarely on the vole. Silverfoot killed it swiftly.[/size]
Hawktail watched quietly as his sister caught the vole. "Good job," he mewed quietly to the silver tabby. He opened his jaws to scent for more prey, and instantly caught the smell of a squirrel. He padded quietly around the tree, cutting off the squirrel's escape route, before leaping forward and killing it with a sharp bite to the neck.

Roseheart silently padded through the forest. She paused to scent the air and quickly caught the scent of a thrush. RoseHeart instictively slunk into the hunters crouch. When Roseheart thought she was close enough she leapt at it. But as she did a twig snapped and the bird flew up into the air. Quickly Roseheart jumped up and snagged it by the neck swiftly killing it. Roseheart scented the air again but this time scented other cats. SHe walked closer to where they were and said "Hi" her beautiful eyes glowing.

Lionpaw watched the older cats hunting. Her stripes blended with the shadows. Her eyes sparkled in admiration and her paws twitched in anticipation. Would she ever learn to hunt so well? She moved a little closer to watch them hunt. Maybe she'd pick something up.

"Hello Roseheart," purred Silverfoot. She sat down and opened her jaws to catch the scents. "And Lionpaw. You can come out," she added, sounding amused.
Hawktail nodded to Roseheart, acknowledging her. He purred in amusement at Silverfoot; he had already realized his sister's apprentice ((right? I think so...)) was hiding.

Roseheart let out a purr as she noticed the apprentice. She stopped and scented the air and immediatly smelled squirrel. Roseheart spotted it and crept closer. But when she got in striking distance it started scrambling up a tree. Roseheart readied herself and launched up into the tree snagging the squirrel as she jumped out of the tree. The thing about Roseheart is she has the long powerful legs of a Windclan cat which gives her many advantages.

Lionpaw came out shyly. She couldn't even hide properly! she thought to herself. "Er, Silverpaw," she couldn't keep the awe out of her voice. "How do you hunt like that? And how do you jump so high? And- and can you teach me? Pretty please?"

"Sure I'll teach you just do everything I do." she said with a purr. Roseheart scented the air. "There is a squirrel just over there. Now watch what I do." she said pointing with her tail to where it was. Stealthily Roseheart crept closer to it. As it spotted her she readied herself for the jump. Just as she expected it began scrambling up the tree so she launched herself into the air and snagged it. "Now you try." she said jumping out of the tree.

Woah, what did she just do? Lionpaw thought nervously. She scented the air. Mouse or what? She wasn't even sure. Were they watching her? She moved over in it's direction. When it noticed her (which was a little sooner than she had wanted,) she jumped onto it. But she wasn't sure what to do next. So she hit it on the head with her paw over and over. "Am I doing this right?"

Silverfoot smiled. "Not quite, but it was good for a first try," she meowed. Silverfoot sank into the hunter's crouch. "This is called the hunter's crouch. To perform it, keep your weight equal on all four paws. Then, you can jump like Roseheart did, stalk mice, and even sneak up on enemy warriors!" Silverfoot sat back up. "Very good first catch, by the way, and to kill it you can bite it's neck," Silverfoot suggested with a kind smile.
Hawktail smiled at the apprentice, and then said, "Well, your much better than I was on my first hunt!" he said, remebering his first disaster-filled hunt with a smile. Hawktail scented the air and smelled another mouse. He got up into the hunter's crouch and padded forward silently, before springing up into the air and landing squarely on top of the mouse. He killed it with a swift bite to the neck.

"Okay!" Lionpaw said with a nod. She bit the mouse's neck for good measure. Then she crouched like Silverfoot did, concentrating on balancing her weight and moving forward at the same time. She moved forward a bit awkwardly. She saw a leaf and decided to pounce on it. But she got really mixed up in the middle of the jump and crashed to the forest floor clumsily! She moved over to her mouse with a sigh. "I may never be as good a hunter as you, Silverfoot." She thought while she ate her mouse. Her eyes lit up. "I- I think it tastes better when you catch it yourself." She looked up shyly with a small smile.

Silverfoot smiled. "Of course you will be," she said encouragingly. "And it definitely tastes better when you catch it yourself!" Silverfoot agreed. "It just takes practice. You did it right, it was just moving forward that caught you off-guard."
Hawktail opened his mouth to scent for prey. Another mouse! He looked at Lionpaw and flicked his tail toward the clump of bushes were he assumed it was hiding, trying to convey the mesage that Lionpaw should try to catch it without saying anything.

Roseheart heard Hawktail sigh and she walked over towads him. "So whats on your mind Hawktail?" she whispered as she looked him in the eyes trying to comfort him. As she did her tail curled on to his shoulder as she awaited his answer. A smile on Rosehearts face.

Hawktail smiled at Roseheart. "Oh, nothing. Just wishing I was as good at talking to other cats as Silverfoot," he said. He saw no point in lying to her. I might as well be straight forward. That's what Silverfoot does, he thought.

"Oh. I think you are very good at talking to other cats. Just look at this your talking to me just fine aren't you." she said with a little flirtatiousness in her angelic voice. "What are you doing I thought you loved Sandfur!" her mind screamed at her. She had forgotten all about him and their confrontation. Suddenly she was bowled over with mighty weight. and smile as she noticed who it was.
Bluefrost was walking through the forest and stopped to scent the air. She smiled as she caught the scent of her sister. Bluefrost went into full sprint her muscles tensing for the impact. When Roseheart came into striking distance she bowled her over with all her strength.

Lionpaw got into the hunter's crouch again, concentrating on where Hawktail had pointed. She tried to identify the area the mouse was in. This time she moved forward slowly until she was sure she could pounce sucessfully. I can do this, I can do this, she told herself. She tensed, pounced and found to her surprise that she was on top of the mouse. She looked up with sparkling eyes at Silverfoot. And hopped off the mouse. "Wow! I did it! I really did it!" she cried, not realizing her catch had just escaped.
