Down by the River

[Creampaw]

I quickly ran down to the river to get started with my training but you know "the older you get the slower you walk"the giggled to herself teasing Nightstar.As she waited for Nightstar to get to the river she looked around and sat on a rock by the river.she laid there until Nightstar got there and jumped up quickly because she was ready to begin her training.

[Nightstar]

Nightstar had slowed down, she had had a long day and was in no real hurry, that was until Creampaw darted ahead of her. She stopped behind the bushes a little way from where her apprentice was sitting, she flicked her tail mischeviously and then darted forward aiming to knock Creampaw off of the rock she was sitting. She steddied herself on the rock and then looked to see if Creampaw had fallen in or not.

[Creampaw]

When Nightstar knocked me off of the rock i was sitting on I feel into the river.When i came out the water I had a fish in my mouth, I droped the fish by her feet and asked her "did i do a good job".I then licked my fur and sat down next to Nightstar.

[Nightstar]

Nightstar smiled and swatted Creampaws ear with her paw, claws sheathed of course. "Very good except normally you might want to try staying out of the water to catch them. She said smiling and then walking to the edge of the water. "Now do what I do and remember try not to let your shadow hit them or they will swim away. She said sitting up with her tail behind her, she lifted her paw to the air and scanned the water for any signs of fish. After a minute she saw a long silver shape start swimming around below her, she quickly swiped her paw through the water with her claws all the way, the fish flew out of the water and landed right beside Nightstar. "If you can hit it hard enough you can kill it, but worry about that when you get bigger right now just hit it out of the water jump on it and kill it" she said taking a step back, allowing her apprentice a turn at it.

[Creampaw]

"Ok i will try to rember next time"she giggled as she told Nightstar "As long as you dont knock me of the rock again".So when it was my turn to kill a fish i went by the river and caught a silver fish with my paw "without falling into the water this time"she whisperd to Nightstar.Once she caught her fish she killed it and set it down by Nightstar's.

Nightstar smiled as she watched her apprentice catch a fish, she was certainly going to make a great hunter. "Very good Creampaw, you are a quick learner" she mewed before walking back to the water edge. She went to get in the position to catch a fish when she heard a small rusting in a clump of reeds a few tail-lengths away, she opened her mouth and tasted the air. A water vole! She quickly but silently turned and started to stalk towards the small creature, she flicked her tail excitedly and pounced though the vole darted before she landed. She quickly pounced at it again this time her paws landed squarely on it. She sent a silent thanks to Starclan before adding her catch to the pile. "Catch one more fish then we can head back to camp, the other patrol will be returning soon also." she said glancing at the sky, it was plently light and and she decided that if Creampaw felt up to it she would take her battle training.

I caugth the last fish of the day and told Nightstar that "I was ready to go back to camp and rest for a little bit because catching all of those fish made me tired".So I picked up the prey and Nighstar and I started walking back to the cave.

[Nightstar]

Nightstar quiclky grabbed the remaining prey then caught up until her and Creampaw's paces were mathced, "If you want to do some battle training later just meet me in the training hollow." she said before darting forward and back to camp. She was hoping that Creampaw would say yes, she loved battle training.
